I know Jim does so well protecting that washy and I have heard him say its going to be bad when it gets bigger so I thought I would give him a bit of hope. Went to my friend Brians ( Brians Botanicals ) and had a look at his dads washys that overwinter in ground zone 6B. just a hurricane cut, heat cable and some plastic thrown over them. the pindo in the other palm stays out as well. there are a bunch, alexanders and queens that are moved each winter but these few stay put.

it can be done Jim you have many more years of happiness left.

Just a couple other pics I took real fast

You guys should see Bill's Washys...I will see if I can get a pic from him.

I have purchased a lot of great plants from BB including the Thai giant,
Tetrapanex and T. FortxWag(Hayes stiffie) I have now.

Im very lucky to have met Brain awhile ago I have gained so much from being around there and its even better its only a quick trip down the road. I'll have to ask about that fort x wag cross might have missed it when I was walkin around but there were some that looked a bit like a mix of the 2 now that I think about it.

Impressive picture of the Washy, and to think it over winters well. Gives me new hope I will be able to do the same for mine.
