Mike,
Is trachy pollen like some cycad pollen in that it's "viable" for about 2 weeks only?

Kinda like phoning the sperm bank too late 😆 😆

Barb my Trachy looks to be a male after all. A little to much wishfull thinking on my part that it was a female. I`ll cut of one of the flower stalks and send it to you this week. Thanks Mike for your willingness to send it from Chicago.

Oh hell, John, how many thousand seeds do you want? 😆 😆
Come 'n get 'em (in how long?)

Thanks! Hope the rotating postal strike doesn't hit Kelowna/Vernon.

Yes, thanks Mike and Wes for the pollen offer.

So mine's definitely a female? ? ? ? ?

Barb with the male flower stalk I`m sending you it will be the fall when the seeds are ready. I could always send it UPS or Fed. Express, very cheap to Vernon. Yours looks like a female after looking at some here of a large male and female side by side. I`ll wrap it in wet paper towels around the base of the cut so it will be fresh when you get it. Cameron will get the first seeds sent out from our batch. I don`t have any seedlings anymore so I`m due for more. 😆

Excellent! Thanks folks.

So "John and Barb's Dating Service" is a go...pull the blinds and presto, viable seeds in the Fall 😛
Suspending the pollen branch near the top would let the wind do the work?
Or maybe a little paintbrush.

I recall what H said when I used a brush to pollinate the Citrus..."isn't that a little kinky"? 😐

Whichever mail or courier is fine, I'll send you $ to cover.

I'm up to my eyeballs in palm seedlings (remember the 25+ Foxtails ??? ) + others.
Totally out of space here...

Sheesh, John, that's enough pollen to get every female Trachy in North America preggie!

Great pic.

Is it OK to hang it in the top part of tree?
Or are you just sending the "dust" 😆 😆 (*blush*)

Barb I would just place it in the crown where it will not fly away. We defintely know they are going to be fresh come this fall.

...

fresh come this fall.

Are we talking Sept? Oct? Nov?

Curious whether I'll be wearing a toque inside a palm hut...or earlier?

So many questions...so much to forget 😆
