Great Job Barb!! Keep us posted on the progress......I assume it will form seed since your so far south (LOL)........perhaps the pollen from Bill's Trachy's will make it to your area.

Thanks everybody.
Yup, it's really 35 (maybe even a year older).
Until I joined Palms North, I figured it would be in a pot all of its life.
And then I heard about winter protection 😆 😆
And the rest is history as they say.
My "bonsai" Trachy can finally grow.
I'm waiting to see whether the flower spathe hangs down, meaning it's a boy.
Or sticks out on top, meaning it's a girl.

Seems happy on the east side of house.
Since last year's growth, the fronds are really stretching up straight and long.
Spears are going to have to barge their way through. 😀
Will post pics as things happen.

Had a good dump of rain last night plus a heck of a windstorm.
Happy that the winds didn't braid the top fronds together 😆 😆

Wes thanks that`s awsome sending us the Pollen. Barb you won`t know what you have until the inside is revealed. I like your palms stiff fronds. It would be a good lineage to continue male or female.

I bet that has something to do with the roots finally getting out of a pot and doing a happy dance.

That occurred to me too.
Palms weren't that common 35 yrs ago in Vancouver (either in nurseries or outdoors).
Or maybe I just didn't notice.
Makes me wonder about its origins.
