OK here is my list....
1) Trachy Fortunei= 1' trunk with 5-6 fronds
2) Trachy Takil= both 3" trunk with 6-7 fronds
1) Hystrix= 3" trunk
1) Sabal Minor= 3" trunk
1) Pygmy Date (dying I think)=1' - 6" trunk
1) 3" trunk Yucca Rostrada
1) 4'- 6" Trunk Yucca Faxonia
2) 8" ball Sagos
1) 4" bal Sago
The Faxonia is lossing 3-4 spikes a week I think because of no sun light, the Sago's are yellowing because of no sun light, and Pygmy Date Palm, I HAVE NO CLUE....
I would like to go ahead and landscape this weekend if possible. I am in Zone 5, and we are projected to have 30's for lows next week (every week for the last month has had a below 31 forecasted, but never gets close).
I NEED TO GET THESE IN THE SUN!!!!! but is it too early yet? I have been taking them out every day, but the Faxonia is scaring me, 3-4 spikes a week!!!
Sounds like you have started a nice collection. 🙂 I think it's still a little early. I would still keep putting them out in the sun for a few hours each day if possible.
Regards,
Jay
Really, the Faxonia is my only BIG worry. It is too big to take out and bring in every day.
Try to put the yucca faxoniana under a shade tree or in the shade for a couple of weeks and slowly bring it out to the sun. I don't think the cold should hurt it now?

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Well, I was actually thinking it was too heavy to load inside and out with the lay out of my house being as such that it would have to be carried down stairs every night, until Mr. 10 minutes to think of a great Idea ME, thinks....would this work, take it out to the East side of house during day, then bring in GARAGE for night. Or should I do as you said? It has been an indoors tree it's whole life. Would it take the 32 degree nights? If I did the garage method, would that be too much sun?
Sorry Kansas, I should have said to bring them out in the sun slowly so they get adapted. I also thought you meant you wanted to plant them now. So i guess you could put them out and always bring them in if it gets cold. 🙂

Jay
It should not have any problem taking cold down to 32F, but that is a risk that you will have to decide. I always put my plants outside in March or the first part of April here because I want them to be frost hardy for the fall. But sometimes they freeze back if it hits the teens or 20's, but they almost always come back 🙂
