Another thought came to me this evening.
While you have the electrician out there anyways, can you make sure there will be GFCI outlets near the palm beds? That will make it easier to plug in palm heaters (e.g., pipe heat cables, C9 lights) without running extension cords all over the place.
Just a thought. 🙂

Thanks

I started sorta in 2009, but there is always some project going on at my house all the time. I've did a lot of work on the inside as well, of course the inside is not finished either lol. I'm hoping to at least get the deck and concrete down this year in the back and then I will probley work on redoing my kitchen until next spring and then I will try to finish the back yard. No telling what other ideas I will have by then though lol.

lol, you sound like my Dad, always has some project going on...He's gutted his bathroom 3 or 4 times, and is always renting a Bobcat, his most recent thing is he's moving his hottub and digging up the yard. Anyways, good luck with all your projects!

Got the deck coming together and the forms for the concrete walls going up.
The plan is to cover the deck with plywood and concrete board on top of that. PVC trim screwed into the plywood around the pool inside edge. The cement board will have the cracks filled with thinset and then coated with redgaurd sealer. Then the concret will be poured for the floor even with the concreteboard on the deck and then tiled across the deck and the concrete floor.

Hey Brandon

Nice to see it's coming along.
I love the natural fence texture.
Will look great with palms in front.

Hope you have lots of help for the pour...
Will have to look back a few pages to remember what you're planting.

Now that I've read back in this post...I bet your wife has ordered a sign:

Finish THIS project...then START the next one. 😆 😆 😆

Couldn't resist that.

Haha yeah.

I plan to remove the reed fence cover and replace with bamboo after all is done.

Haha yeah.

Oh you've seen the sign :geek:

By the way, you mentioned earlier on you wanted the neighbors' permission to plant the crape myrtles.
Your computer drawing looked like you were planting them on your neighbors' side of the fence?

Good that you found a nursery nearby, they'll be able to recommend some hardy palms too.
But too bad you're not in Massachusetts...Bill has 8 and 10 foot fabulous palms for sale.
Just a short drive from your place 😐

That reed fence cover looks nice, although bamboo will last longer.
It should be easy to drive a few hours to the south to buy a huge palm, but a good local nursery can ship one to you for less money than you would spend on gas to drive south.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I decided to plant the crapes on my side because I don't think anything can be planted back there due to a drainage ditch. Thats what that wall is for agaist my fence. The railroad ties will not be quit so high because right now the extras are stacked over there and it looks taller, but they will be removed after the wall concrete is poured.

Got a little more work done. Walls are almost formed. Part of the plywood laid down and cleaned up a little. Should be pouring the concrete walls and steps soon.
