Got a new Bismarkia at H.D. and talked them down to $30. It was totally pot bound and crooked in the pot. I re-potted it and it looks great. Can't wait for it to take off and GROW!

Here's a couple of pics.

Very nice indeed! 30 bucks what a score, I tried to get my HD to carry palms but no luck. That way I could go buy them all in Oct for 75% off. LOL

THIRTY BUCKS?????? 😯 😯

(grumbling and bitching...) If....and I repeat IF Canadian nurseries stocked that, it'd cost $200.00.
But I'd probably pay it just to get one.

Nice deal! I'm sooooo jealous!

Crap...John and I spent $225 for each of our Bottle Palms! 😐

Yup, we Cdns pay thru the nose for everything.
Talked to a German tourist recently, who said Cdn beer is soooooo expensive.
Apparently German beer (hundreds of brands) is dirt cheap, and their companies aren't going belly-up.

There aren't enough of us...population...for a country second only to Russia in size.
We're at about 33 million.
And probably 32.99999999 million don't grow palms.

Must be the gov't getting taxes from everything except the lint in my pocket.
Didn't think they got money from palms though 😆 😆 😆

Mark that is a great looking Bismarkia. I could only hope to pay what you did for that. We get cheap T. fortunei and Med. fan palms ,Mexican fans and other cold hardy palms from the coast. Anything more tropical in nature we pay extra big time.Barb if only the other 32,999,900 knew they grow all year long here in B.C. Bill we pay for our free national healthcare by extra taxes on everything from booze to gas ect. I hope it`s around when I get older.

I can only dream of a $30.00 Bizzie.

If only my seeds hadn't failed...I'd have one now!
They didn't even come up in the compost where I dumped them after 8 mos trying to germinate them!

Yup, don't remind me of how much we pay in taxes.
The buggers will soon tax the air we breathe.

Hey Bill,

Canadian Beer is so expensive because it takes 36 american beers to get you drunk and to equal a 24 pack of Molson Canadian! 🙂

Thanks Everyone. I guess I got real lucky with this one.

This was the first time my Home Depot had Nice REAL palms. I mean other then majesty's and small Phoenix Robeleni's. They got them in late June. They had Adonidia's , larger Phoenix Robeleni's, Queens and these. I didn't know what they were at the time when I bought one of theAdonidia's in June for $60 and a Queen in late July marked down to $40. My BAD! 😳 When I realized these were Bismarkia's I had to get one. Then I though why not try to ask them to mark it down again and they did! Yipee!!

Cheers! l

I'll stick to my Marktini's!!

Barb-
Next year try planting them in the yard, with the heat you have there they should sprout and probably won't die until you dig them up 😈

I'm done with startin' stuff from seed...
😆 😆

Will check in at our HD now and then this winter, see what's in the bargain bin almost dead.
That's where I got the Licuala grandis.
Nobody (including me) knew what kind of palm it was.
