Needle and minor. Green despite seeing temps of -18C one night (in protection!)

Now some other plants. I have ~3 cultivars of I. opaca. This one (Carnival, I think) is not that hardy. Brown leaves, but live stems:

My needles and minors down here at 35 oN don't look nearly so good.
Phylostachyes aureosulcata is dead and being cut down all over the region (presumably will come back from roots).
The Magnolia success doesn't surprise me--they are hardier than I once thought.
Yucca? I guess I take it for granted. 😀

Hi Paul,
overall the plants look pretty good. It will be interesting to see how the Sabal birmingham and brazoria perform. It appears the leaves above the snow line got fried on the Y. recurvifolia 'Tenn.' x filata. Your BBB looks pretty good.....it should take off this season. What's your source of the Y. arkansana? Perhaps you'll get a bloom this season.

Those palms look good dude. Same with the bamboo. Mine dont look nearly that good ( my fault, S--t happens, learned my lesson), but theyll all shoot like mad this year.
Im suprised at how good the yucca do there ( mabey not suprised, cant think of a better word). Definetly makes me want to try a few more types if i can find them here. Same with palms.... LOL.

Those huge leaved Rhodie and Mags are awsome looking.
Im thinkin my boos ar ein recovery mode this year. Not expecting to much hight to be put on, as much as I am expecting a high amount of culms.

Wherever I've planted ANYTHING I've had to amend the soil! The Rhodies are especially troublesome here, the pH of the soil is just too high (and there is too much calcium) to support their growth!
Oh, and the cacti/Yucca are grown on a sand face amended with coarse sand, and topped with pea gravel.
