So I left a Livingstonia chinenss outside over the winter because I didn't have room for it and it was not looking that great anyway. Surprise 2 leaves have poked up out of the pot. I would say these are prob. much hardier than they are rated, though I don't know if they would be reliably hardy hear. But it survived in a pot 13 F this winter, pretty amazing.

Yes........that's really great. You gotta plant it now since it does not want to die 😉

Yeah im gonna need to plant this, it has 3 of the trees in the clump are growing leaves we will see what happens with it. It is super hardy I dunno how it survived 13F in a container, the whole thing would have had to freeze.

That is good to know. It also corroberates the info ive read stating they can be grown in zone 5 as a dieback perrenial. Plant it in a microclimate, and mulch it in the winter, and see how well it does!

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
