Sorry for not posting the pics promised yesterday. Since a quality is poor (I don't like my Canon Ixus pictures) I'm gonna try shooting with my DSL Nikon tomorrow.
My thought to be dead Gunnera is alive actually... I found a tiny leaf and a few growing buds of my experimental plant....
Great! Hope springs eternal!! Especially in spring!

Great pics, Igor! I especially like the healthy-looking Aucuba.

Great job Igor!
That is amazing that you overwinter with no heat!
All your stuff looks great -and-we are off to another great growing season.
Do you think your Arundo will keep growing from the top of the plant???

Thanks Jim!
No heat at all. Perhaps the straw blocks is a very good insulator! Even I placed them in wrong way 'cos the straw stems should be directed from down to up. Do you know what I mean?
Arundo started growing from the top already. In fact I'm gonna use these stems as the layers propagation. I did that putting the stems on a surface of a shallow water.
Some yuccas look awful after the winter. But my Gunnera manicata has made it! As well as a couple of young Figs. Pics are below:
Gunnera...
Some other stuff...
And some pics just for the spring inspiration:

Yay!
Spring is busting out!
Are you saying you can root the Arundo donax????
That would be easier than digging it up to multiply 😀
Awesome that your Gunnera made it,I have tried that a few times...with no luck.
Maybe I didn't start with a good one 😀

Igor, oh thank goodness for those spring inspiration pics.
Thanks!
Hope the rest of your yuccas come back.

Got a small pond and installed it.
This is how it looked last Monday:

I like it...and a few water plants will keep the goldfish happy.
There's something about a walled garden that appeals to me...probably the privacy and microclimate it creates.
Very nice.
