Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with jubaea chilensis, sabal mexicana or palmetto? From what I've read they are all around the same type of hardiness. If anyone has any seeds, seedlings, or full plants of any these then I would be very interested in buying them. I also found a very interesting site when I was looking around. The only thing I think is questionable is the face that a washy fil. passed a -18c test with flying colours. Otherwise its interesting.

An interesting site is this one where a guy in zone 7 has been growing palms. He had planted sabal palmettos, one of them weathered -6F at one year old and then transplantation at -3F three years later. Two others took -3F but it stunted all of their growth patterns and they're all the size of about a 5 year palmetto at 20 years old. If there's any question as to how hardy these palmetto's can be, then it has all be proven right here. He has a large 20 year old palmetto growing in zone 7 and wraps them only in christmas lights. They get to the single digits in farenheit every year and sometimes below zero.
