Didn't uncover everything I have(Mexican Fan Palm will stay covered for another week) but happy with the two Windmill Palms I had in the ground. Larger one was it's first year in the ground all winter, smaller one was it's 2nd year.

Others in Garage have to wait their turn.

Also moved a couple potted palms outside. Windmill and European Fan Palm.

They sell those at SAMS and was really easy to assemble. It's just secured to the concrete pad by Liquid Nails and have never had an issue with it moving around.

Palms are looking really good. Some of those potted palms look like they are dying to get in the ground.

Forecast lows looked good..so anxious to bring out my two Canary Island Date Palms I overwintered in the garage. Both bought at same place last year, but smaller one was just one frond, and was being let go for $10 since it was damaged. It sure has come a long way since last summer. I'm amazed really at how fast these things grow.

Scott, would you please make a tour around your garden sometime? The pond and the Grasses look promising!

Thanks!

Scott, in which USDA zone are you located? Your place looks about as far into 'Spring' as my own (USDA 4b/5a) garden near Kingston, ON.

Scott,

Looks great! I must say I'm really pleased with all the northern trachys I've seen out of zone. Man for the longest time, I thought I was the only nutcase growing palms up here, lol.

CIDPs are great palms, very forgiving of even severe root damage during transplanting (ahem... 🙄 in my case).

IMO, nothing says tropics more than a date palm.

I agree, although I seem to have some terrible luck with Pygmy Date Palms both inside and ones I over wintered in garage. Alive, just look like crap except for one small one and it looks amazingly good.

Me too Scott, my PDP looks like hell.
Half dead after winter.

I think it's Tim (?) (or Mike?) who has one to die for...breathtaking beauty.

Regular date palms are so much easier than pygmies.
