Well the coldest it's been here so far was -4F last week. Below zero temps happen at least once or twice around here each winter,it's unavoidable. I keep a gas heater in my green house for those really fridgid nights. I have a ton more sabals and needles in there I plan on planting outside in the spring.
Winter is a long time going up here 😐

I love Sabals, but man are they ever SLOW this far north. I don't know what we can do to speed things along... maybe heat the soil?
Oh yeah I love the sabals too,to bad they grow so SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I really didn't start to get nervous until the temp. started to drop below 0.F around here with that one planted out in the open like that.

Very Slow lol. Even with warm ground temps all winter they would still grow slowly just not as slow. It would still be like watching a 500 mile race between 2 slugs lol.
