Wish I lived closer to Mike. I'd do a road trip across the border for more "houseplants"

I was thinking in terms of if you could just act as a broker and have them shipped direct to me from whatever farm you use. I have a contact over near detroit who I've talked to that sounds like a hobbiest who says he can get me a great deal on some tall windmills, however, without him being an official business I'm still a little gunshy on giving him a grand and waiting for my palms to show up.... I may still go that route, but I just want to make sure I'm protected. I'm thinking of using a credit card through paypal at this point to make sure I have something to fall back on in case there's a dispute. FYI, for those interested, the deal I was working on last summer but chickened out on was four windmills, with 6-7 foot clear trunk shipped to me for $1000.00. Sounds too good to be true considering what else I've found out there is no where near that price.
HEY WHEELMAN 1976-THAT DEAL FROM LAST YEAR DOESN'T EXIST IN THE PRICING WORLD THAT GUY WAS DEPERATE TO MAKE A SALE AT A BREAK -EVEN PRICE OR LESS. I CAN BE A BROKER FOR YOU BUT I AM SURE THAT THE TRANSPORT ALONE WILL BE-$350-$550-CALL ME-514-481-0683-OE GIVE ME YOUR TEL # i WILL CALL YOU SATURDAT BEFORE LUNCH-IT IS A FREE CALL FOR ME AND YOU
CHEERS
MIKE
INTERESTING POINT THAT BARB MAKES ABOUT DROPPING PALMS OFF AT A BORDER AND YOU GUYS PICKING THEM UP AND DECLARING THEM AS HOUSEPLANTS. I WONDER IF PUTTING THEM ON THE BACK SEAT OF YOUR CAR OR IN THE BACK OF A U-HAUL TRUCK WOULD BE THE SAME LOL.. I AM FINDING OUT THE COST OF THE PHYTOSANITARY CERTIFICATE COST AND IF SHE APPROVES AND CERTIFIES ALL THE PLANTS AT THE SAME TIME. i URGE US CUSTOMERS TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE HOUSEPLANT OPTION . ALSO I COULD HAVE ALL THE PLANTS INSPECTED AND PROVIDE A PHYTO FOR A PICK-UP AT MY PLACE, BUT AGAIN MAKE SURE WHAT IS ALLOWED AT A SPECIFIC BORDER. ANOTHER OPTION MAY BE TO DIG UP HERE WHAT HAS BEEN GROWING IN THE GROUND FOR 2-3 YEARS AND SELL THEM TO THE USA . NOW THE PLANT IS CONSIDERED CANADIAN GROWN AFTER 1 YEAR. MUCH TO LEARN.
THANKS
COCONUTMIKE

Hey Scott I used the Canada Postal Service to calculate your package ( 1 gal needle ) to Omaha and it works out to between $25-$35 dollars depending on how fast we send it and $35-45 for the 3 gal needle. I will have to get a pytosanitary cetificate and that will cost $20. -- Us border and USDA tell me you have a $200 exemption and will not pay duties on this item. I would go with the bigger palm 3g-7g if I were you. Let me know
Mike-for all other palms I will send them directly from my supplier to you you will save the border issue and you will even get your palm with My Montreal Palms tag on it and I will see the products before they leave the farms and take care of all the transport, loading and paper work. see pic 1 gal needle and 7 gal needle-see picture attaced 1- gal & 7 gal needle palm
mike-call me or e-mail me for quote
HEY SCOTT -IT DOES END UP PRICY FOR A SMALL NEED WHEN YOU INCLUDE THE SHIPPING AND PHYTO UNLESS YOU GO WITH A 3GAL OR 7 GAL . LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU DECIDE. I AM WORKING ON A COMPLIANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE USDA FOR THE OTHER PALMS. TURNS OUT THAT THERE WAS A BUG INFESTATION IN MANY PALMS IN 2009 -ORIGIN UNCLEAR -SO USA DECIDED IN 2010 TO BAN ALL PALMS COMING INTO USA. I SPOKE WITH HEATHER AT THE USDA LAST WEEK FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND SHE AGRRED THAT MOST OF THE CRITTERS WOULD DIE DURING A MONTREAL WINTER SO THEY ARE NOT REALLY BLAMING CANADA AT ALL -THAT IS JUST A CHOICE THEY MADE AT THE TIME. THWERE HAVE BEEN MANY REQUESTS MADE FROM B.C AND NOW FROM MYSELF ON THE EAST COAST FOR A COMPLIANCE AGREEMENT TO HELP OUR TRADING AGREEMENT WITH THESE PLANTS
Mike, Thanks but I was able to find one already that was in the US. Not being sure exactly how long shipping would be I didn't want to over stress a plant shipping during the cold of winter and any possible delays in shipping from Canada to the US.
Again, Thanks!
Scott
