came out really really well. did you buy it that big or have you grown it for awhile? does look a bit like a waggie to me as well..although it seems when waggies get that big they look like trash with small crowns and large trunks but that one looks fantastic.

Very nice looking palm. You did a really good job protecting it. I couldnt imagine the temps dropping low enough to hurt it now.

I got it about that size it is right now from chilly palm. I put in the ground 4-5-12. There was nothing for about 3 months probably the transfer shock. But the end of July to October there was some nice growth. I hated to wrap it up at the end of November. But uncovered yesterday and wow it looks great.

I don't see any Waggie genes...but?

So it's been in the ground about a year, Tony.
Great job of winter protection.
Don't change a thing for 2013/2014. 😀

Just ribbing you about the sideways photos, Tony.
Better sideways than no photo at all.

Look forward to seeing the Pindo...when the time is right.

Yeah, folks cut yellow tips off, but all it does is improve appearance.
Yellow tips can indicate too much--as well as too little--water.
So it's pretty common, but not a big deal in my opinion.

fertilize it if you can it worked for me. I used 15-5-15 make sure it has magnesium.

Nobody panics when people plant normal trees because its part of the plan... if someone plants a Palm EVERYONE LOSES THERE MINDS!

Tony, I think you need to look at your 2 week f/cast for night time lows to guide your decision.

Or maybe anyone closer to you can advise.

Pindos are supposedly among the hardiest of feather-leafed palms.
Just guessing, but mid-30's is too cool unless it's been in the ground for many years.

But it depends on your protection...if it's getting moldy from lack of ventilation, uncovering now would help it.

Sorry, can't be more help.

It's been over 90-100f inside the hut even with me venting it during the day but with the sun beating on the hut. I'm going to take a chance and uncover it on Saturday.
