Hi gardenopr, welcome aboard.

This is a long shot, but here goes:

Pic 1: Behind you is a Trachy.
To your right, those look like Cordylines (but probably not).

Pic 2: Could be P.dacty...

Pic 3: Butia? or Sabal Palmetto?

Pic 4: 3 Trachycarpus fortunei

Pic 5: Tall one...no idea, but that blue Yucca (maybe a Rostrata) in foreground right is stunning.

Pic 6: Could be a CIDP, Canary Island Date Palm, but need a closer look at the trunk.

Pic 7: Probably P. dactylifera?

Last pic: blue tall ones could be Brahea? maybe armata (probably not)
Hairy trunked ones are definitely Trachycarpus fortunei.

Where were the photos taken?

Barb

PS--everyone, my guesses are just that...guesses. Let's hear your ideas.

Thanks the photos are from Madrid, Spain.

Are you sure the first picture is a trachy? The trunk is alot of brighter.

It looks allmost identical to this mexican fan palm. What do you think?

A few notes:
Pic 1: Washingtonia x filibusta, (or robusta)

Pic 3: Sabal palmetto (the tall one, others not so sure)

Pic 5 is T. fortunei, just tall specimens.

Pic 6: Phoenix canariensis

Pic 7: I'm going to go with Jubitia (Jubea x butia). Could be wrong here as it does look like Butia sp.

Pic 7: T. fortunei (palmate leaf) and Butia (Pinnate leaf). I base the Butia on the leaf. Again, I could be wrong.

Madrid?
My son was there this summer with my parents. He sent me some palm photos.
There is a thread on here somewhere with them in you want to compare. --Erik

Didn't see the trunk detail on that first pic.
Yup it's a Washy.

Ah, Spain...

Welcome to the forum.

Here's my attempt:

1. Washingtonia in the background, Yucca aloifolia on the side.
2. P. dactylifera
3. Sabal palmetto, small Washingtonias all around
4. T. fortunei
5. Washingtonias, with a Butia on the left, and a Yucca rostrata on the right
6. P. canariensis
7. B. capitata, a.k.a. B. odora
8. B. capitata/odora in the center, and Trachycarpus fortunei all around

Cameron.

Do you think the first picture is a Washingtonia Robusta or a Washingtonia Filifera?

I've never been too good at differentiating the two, but if I had to lean towards one species, it would be robusta.
