Curious ... I've never seen a Windmill palm with petioles that short before. Is this palm recovering for some kind of setback?
Hard to tell how old it is. Many factors contribute to it's growth and considering it's odd characteristics, more difficult yet.
Cheers, Barrie.
Barrie,
The reason for its short petioles is because I sprayed copper fungicide on the leaves without first adding water so I had to cut off a lot of the leaves in August of this year. I have fertilized it with palm tree spikes also used mycorrhizal fungi to the soil along with epsom salts, so I hope that will help it out for next year's growing season. It was grown out in Seattle thats about all I know. 😕

the trunk of that windmill looks to be 15 or more years old. I have never seen one with that small fronds before. It must have something wrong with it.
Jimmie
jaydeebee,
if you read above you will see why the fronds are so short.
