Hi, I am new here and looking forward to learning more about palms. I am new to palms but not to gardening...I have been a tropical gardener for about 15 years but have only recently really become interested in palms.

Currently in my yard, I have a very small assortment that were planted actually by the previous owner as a portion of her xeriscape. These include Needle Palm, Sabal Palm (which is native here), Sagos (I know, not really a palm but a cycad) and Pygmy Date Palm.

In my greenhouse I have a small collection of "not hardy" more rare palms. These include Majesty Palm, Parlor Palm, Pelagodoxa henryana, Licuala mapu, Kerridoxa elegans, Licuala peltata, Bottle Palm,Dypsis baronii, and Licuala grandis. I am getting 2 Joey Palms and a Watermelon Palm in January. 😀 I can't wait for those.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
