I would like to know if anyone has tried these meathods of palm planting 🙄 . Seems they are onto something here? www.raingardens.com/psst/articles/palmpot.htm http://ourworld.cs.com/hbrahea333/sabalmistakes1.html

Not quite as described but have had a Queen Palm Syagrus Romanzoffianum in a pot sitting in another pot under a cabbage tree for several years which has been untroubled by severe frosts.Mind you we have very dry winters.Have another of same species just in a pot right next to house and it is OK too.

Hi Ian , thanks for the input . I guess there will only be one way to find out if this meathod works as good as the author claims. I will plant two of my palms in their pots ,and two without observing proper soil preparations,4 equally healthy trees. Time will tell?
Cheers

I am glad you posted this method of your planting on this site 🙂
I bought 3 years ago some nannorhops ritchiana seedlings. one stayed in a nursery pot wich was shallow and one I planted huge pot as a joke ( about 48 inch across and 48 inch deep ). The one in the small pot hasnt grown much but the one in the deep pot sends up new leaves regularly.
