Very nice, Paul. It was a good Summer for you!
I'm surprised the Sabal suffered from your sun. I had sun damage to some of my palms, but Sabal seemed to like it down here at 36oN (and highs to 46 C).

Erik- The sabal trouble was caused by winter indoors, followed by spring full sun. Whoops!
Igor, my Gunnera was lost. I tried to rescue it by potting it up, but it failed over the winter indoors... It did survive one winter here outdoors, with protection. It might be too warm for it, though.

Nice baby Gunnera.
They grow well where I grew up (Oregon, 45oN, mild summer and winter) but impossible around here.

Sheesh, my little Sabals (one's a Riverside) were the only ones that DIDN'T sunburn after coming outside for summer.
Your stuff really grew this summer Paul.
Yuccas are stunning.

Paul - Those Yuccas are something fierce. Im just starting to get into them. My Y Filamentosa (bright edge) made it last year no problem, soI ordered some specie Filamentosa, and have some glauca seeds waiting to pop. Im very interested what I can get away with here, as far as yucca goes...
That Miscanthus is badass too. The Rhizome you sent didnt make it, so the fridge method didnt work or me at all, but they are fairly cheap from Hortico, so Ill probably grab one next spring, seeing as that plant fits into my yard plan more then perfect!
The bamboo loos great as well. They look like they got some decent size finally! My Phyllostachys barley made it (my fault). So much so, it didnt even shoot any culms this year, but more then half of it re leafed out. Im thinkin you are JUST on the edge of hardiness for unprotected bamboo, and im JUST below that edge.
Are those palms the ones you showed linked us a while ago? They look way better this year!

I really love those palms...
After growing continually indoors through winter, mine collapsed (for no obvious reason) and died last year.
Expensive here...IF we can find them.
