No new roller on the Abyssinian-usually there is a new one half way
up the one opening...end of the world scenario or is this beotch
getting ready to flower???
I really would have thought it would get WAY bigger before it flowered-we'll see.

Yea,these gain a lot of mass too unlike most 'banana plants'.............
I believe Ventricosum grows even faster and may also
be a bigger plant -all around.
This one was tiny at the start of the season..
maybe like 3" tall.

Beautiful at any height.
Maybe it'll put out a flower, grow another 5 feet, another flower, and so on.
Re ventricos...My musa basjoo leaves never looked that good, even when they first opened.
Looked like it had gone through a shredder.
But it wouldn't fit into the port.... :angry1: 😆 😆

You probably need to water yours a lot in your heat.
I don't water Ensete as much as a typical banana plant.

This is basically what it looked like(even)at mid-night(7-5-11) last night.
Notice how tight the leaf is rolled..nothing in there(right?)
and no leaf showing as there normally is...

This is what it did in 12 hours-unbelievable!
I have no idea how that leaf appeared so quickly.
These Abyssinian can really move it when they want to!

Come to think of it,it did get down to 68f(20c) one night 😉
Once it starts growing like this almost nothing stops it this time of year!
