Edible Pindo Palm fruit in Montreal

Hi guys first time in over 10 years that I see fruit on my pindo palm that is ready to eat. Check it out

That is great! They produce fruit in North Texas (zone 8) but I never imagined that north of there.

Yeah every year we see fruit but it never gets ripe before the winter I usually have to bring the seeds inside and soak them in warm water for them to become ripe and then germinate

what type of protection does the pindos get in zone 5?..there not even reliable here in 6B

We use the sytrofoam box method like the other palms

Mike, please make a updated detailed video of when you box up your palms for the winter. Thickness of styrofaom, how it's held together, anchoring to the ground and heat supplied.

would be a good idea. depending on the work I might put a few together at my new house
