Systemics really work more effectively with mites, mealy bug, scale etc ... insects that are parasitic in nature.
Arctic Palm, I would assume that these earwigs have settled in the crown, as they prefer to hide out in close quarters. They shouldn't do much of any real damage, but the potential is there. The last product I used was from Wilson and it was a pellet form of bait. I'm sure there are many others on the market equally as good. I think Baygon was, or is, the active ingredient in some of these products.

I had the exact same problem this summer with my 5 footer, all i did was put a small drop of dish soap in half a liter of water and used a sprayer to mist the crown.
Needles to say the next morning they were all gone and have not been back for over 3 months. :violent3:
