5 minute garden update at home in Audubon NJ

Playing with my new phone....Quality not the best, but you get the idea of the layout of my gardens.

Pretty amazing all around Mike...but I gotta say
the standouts for me were the Basjoo!

They are truly massive.

How much of that (palms) are in the ground and how much do you have to drag in?

VERY nice yard, great quiet space and love the Banana's

Thanks...I drag a crapload of palms in in the winter time. Only for about three 1/2 months though, then they go back out by March. Just the trachies, cannas, bananas and other assorted things stay out.

Have that too here in Omaha, just can't get them to over winter. How do you protect?

In November cut back hip height, chicken wire cage around them, straw and mulch inside, plastic wrap on sides and grill cover on top. Open on sunny days to let air circulate....basically i keep them dry and happy in winter

All I know is the figs look amazing too! I can't believe how many people still think figs can't grow in this area. Drive around Jersey City/Hoboken and they literally grow like weeds. Congrats on the amazing garden!

PM me on here in the fall when you're ready to overwinter and I'll give you more details.

Hi Mike,
I was near you in the past days, just came back with my family from Long Branch, New Jersey. We loved that, nice beaches and we went to Pt Pleasant, very beautifull boardwalk in Jenkinson. There s some pics with some Cocos Nucifera, Syagrus and Washingtonias they planted for summer 😀 ... You can see me playing in waves with my girls..
