Cretan date palms I got from Stan Mckenzie three years ago as 1 gals.
I just uploaded a bunch more photos for anyone that is interested here http://citrus.forumup.org/viewtopic.php?t=3404&mforum=citrus
Those are awesome Todd !!! They've really grown well. The ones I have are still in one gallon pots (not Stan's) that I grew from seed. There isn't a hope in hell of me growing them outside here. Too wet and cool in the winter and we're better suited for growing Phoenix canariensis. Here's my canariensis.
Cheers, Barrie.
Barrie I would give them a shot. They seem a lot tougher than Canaries... These have never had any burn at all, where the CIDP's down the street get leaf burn quite often. They sucker like hell & I am always out there with my sawzall cutting them off. I'm trying to root some sucker now, I'll let you know if I succeed.
I was told they are hardier than CIDP. I actually heard they are the hardiest of all the Pheonix apecies.

Nice looking brahea you have there Laaz. I have 3 potted up since april but its going to be a while before they have any size. I also have 11 washie;s that are really doing great over a foot tall since april.
Laaz you could grow most anything in your neck of the woods. I was in Summerville SC a month ago and i never saw so many palms. Lots of huge jelly palms as well as the sago palmetto. I'm a little north of you in Fay,NC.
