These sure are really cold temperatures.Grass minimums must be close to zero fahrenheit.
Certainly shows the effect of proximity to the sea at Vancouver to the much milder temperatures there.

Yeah, Those temps are actually taken at the airport where it's usually a few degrees colder than where i'm at. Right now at the time of this post it's -9c in my back yard. Still very cold. 🙁 Can't wait till this cold snap is over.

Regards,
Jay

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Hi Joe,

I got the email that you sent to admin @ palmsnorth.com. I haven't changed the other one, maybe it's not working? Having a low of -1.8c would be nice for my area. 😀 I think we just made it above that for our high today. 🙁

Regards,
Jay

Although we get cold temps in Kelowna so far a zone 7a this winter. I think what is going to be the determining factor in survival of cold hardy Yuccas and Palms is the lack of wind .We rarely have wind ,and if we do it is usually a slight breeze.I here all the time how it is the wind that does the damage to the plant cells in conjunction with the cold and wet. I guess we can thank our deep arid Okangan Valley and blocking mountains for this. Do you agree Jay?

I agree John, in the winter months it usually isn't too windy wich can really help our plants make it through the cold.

Jay
