Mike,

the Ensete was kept in my garage for the winter.......just too long of a period I guess. It's alive and regrowing again.

Nice. Good luck with that. i have some (musas) from overwintering that aren't doing so well (mold) and some that are thriving! One in the ground from last year is back from the soil line at about two feet now. love it!!

Tim

I think yours will grow out of all that completely
by late summer and you won't even recognize it
as the same one-should get big enough to survive a
similar treatment this winter too.
They really need to get some size to survive winter storage.

While we are sharing, here is my Abyssinian as of today.
I planted it from a 5 gallon pot last month. Osmocote for fertilizer and a good watering daily. Full sun.
Lows of 70 F and highs of 95 F the last few weeks have been to its liking.

Nice, Erik.

The place is starting to look very "beachy" 😀
How nice!

Jim,
that is a Musa basjoo, returning from the ground and doing very, very well this year.
Jesse,
if there was any way it was possible, you could have that lovely C. radicalis you like so much.
I was sure all three died, but no, all three are alive and growing fast. I'd be delighted if everyone here would try them (with protection, of course). --Erik

Eric, id love those palms, and it is possible, pay a few hundred bucks, or break a few laws LOL. But you should keep them. They do great in the house ( so ive read), and they would be a great starter for your new house ( youll get it soon, im sure ) and garden, especialy there.

That guy is sick man!!! The fence stake is a excellent idea, I wish I thought about it last year before mine fell over.

Your black bamboo in the background is really off to a nice start this year.

Looking good buddy!

15 feet easy by the way.
Bill

Even though it sucks that yours got knocked over Bill,
it was a good lesson for the rest of us and hopefully
can be avoided with this one.

BTW

In your pics it looks like yours is growing out of the damage nicely!
