A few years back I started some Chamaerops humilis 'Cerifera' from seed. All grew in much of the normal fashion aside from one. This has few leaflets and a very strange hastula. I hope this trait continues as the palm matures.

I planted this same one a couple of weeks ago. It's only a foot tall but I have hopes of it growing with good results now that it's in the ground. I have a glass panel over it for the winter as all reports have it less receptive to wet roots in winter. Drainage is good but I'll try this first while it's still young.

Like most common names, there's always more than one. Blue Mediterranean Fan Palm - Atlas Mountain Palm - Morrocan Blue Fan Palm and probably a few others I'm not aware of.
If you stick to botanical names, you have the ability to speak the same language all over the world.

I just bought one this year. It doesn't have the the trait that Barrie's has (maybe that will be extra hardy!).
Hopefully it survives here but it most likely won't be looking good if it does (Pretty wet Zone 7) I will probably throw something over it is the temperature goes below 15F.

Your palm looks great. Nice blue colour. I am always amazed at how fast your palms grow from seed.

Dean I have a Chamaerops humilis green form. Its a main trunk with the usual small ones growing from the side ( about 4 ). If you wanted one you just pay the postage I could send you one or a couple. I was going to trim them back because I just want the single trunk. I am going to repot and refresh the soil and cut the off sets off at the same time. These guys all could be potted into 3 or 5 gallon with some cacuts mix soil and be happy for a long time. If anyone else wants one let me know.
Some are slightly bigger than the rest but all healthy

Thanks, for the offer, but I already have enough seed to keep me busy for now. Beautiful looking Palms though. I was unsure about the "Green Form" part of the name.

There is no "Green form" of Chamaerops humilis, It's simply ... Chamaerops humilis.
