This is in sun most of the day.
I mist it once a day, several new fronds coming up, but why are their edges brown?
It was inside until the last frost.

That is normal with Date palms. It is not the leaf itself & will peel away in a week or two.
Yep, Laaz is 100% correct.
My PDP (from the same genre) does the exact same thing. As the leaf grows out ward, it will drop those brown strings and you will have a beautiful new leaf.
Yes, ours has it, too. Can be somewhat confusing.

Now that you mention it, one brown "string" shown in the first pic is already falling off.
