Just posting for anyone curious....I find these kind of things fascinating 8)

Hyphaenes are a naturally branching fan Palm native to Africa,
This seedling has just statred it's second growing point.

Anyone have any pictures of multi-headed / Branched Palms to share?

I have always liked the multi-headed palm from Africa, where did you find seed? I wonder why it is not grown more often?

These Palms have a lot of nice attributes, In habitat they are good down to - 5C , probably can take a little lower.

Not sure why so few seem to be in cultivation, These have been easy growing here and can take a fair amount of abuse & root disturbance. Did lose a couple seedlings in the early stages due to overwatering, but that was my own fault.

Seeds are almost always in stock at Otanique.com , Also had some from botanicalauctions.com

Rare Palm Seeds also stocks these,
( I've never dealt with RPS directly but they may be a good choice for those who need Phyto's to import)

Thanks for those photos Knnn. Looks like I will have to get some of those seeds real soon. Great looking palms those Hyphanaes.
