Wow, and so do you have to do anything special for winter protection for any of those beautiful palms?

I wrap the trunks with burlap and built a shelter over them. Usually consisting of a tarp or frost cloth. Still had damage on my largest trachy, silver med, 2 sabals and one pindo pulled.

Wow, you have quite a few it looks like to protect. Do you have to use Christmas lights at all? I do, and I'm about maxed out on what the electrical load can handle on those circuits lol

Your garden looks way more finished than mine. Some very beautiful plants there! I can't believe You and I are both zone 7 (I'm in 7a). What was your coldest temp last winter?

Scott, no lights no heat. Not even my non-hardy cacti I buy from box stores. If they cant survive with only a pot or frost cloth then they are gonners.

Adam, my lowest temp last yr was 15. Its been a few good winters. Of course 2010 we were below freezing for all of Dec. 2009 we dropped to 3F. My biggest problem isnt low temps but high precip. We are already close to 40" for the yr.

How do you post pics in series like you do that just show up without creating links to click onto? Much easier to view pics this way.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

6th picture, deep green plant dead center in the picture. looks like just large fronds coming up from the ground...what kind of plant/palm is that. Very cool.

Thanks DZ, its been a difficult year with all our rain. My back yard has been flooded 4 times. I have even lost azaleas that have drowned. But was a great opportunity to replace with a dwarf crape myrtle and a climbing hydrangea. 😛

Scott, now that I have switched my internet service I have gone back to using photobucket. I will simply upload photos off my memory card or cell phone to the site. Then simply copy the HTML code( second from bottom) and paste into my post where I want the picture. When you preview your post the photos will appear.
a couple other pics I forgot to share. Here is my 3 yr old weeping willow.
<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo 056-2.jpg"/></a>
Awesome little agave
<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo DSCF2090.jpg"/></a>
This pic is a yr old of the trachy Takil at Plants Delight.
<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo 2012-09-16151450-1.jpg"/></a>

As for the palm in my rock garden, that is my sabal x Brazoria. Very hardy little hybrid, just as hardy as my Louisiana's and more so than my Birminghams.
