I kept mine potted..it put out 2 good fronds..then a tiny frond that looks mature split and all but only 6 inchs long..its pushing another spear now. Has this ever happened to yours?

Sounds like it has some root issues,this is common with Princeps....basal plate rot.

Try putting some crushed gravel around the base to keep the soil from contacting the base.

it has fish tank gravel on top of the soil, has since I got it..no idea whats wrong but I hope it grows out of it.

Try some crushed limestone if you can find it,you want something more base than acid.
