Pics are a few days old

When you add up all the arms of growth on the C.Peruvianus you get about 6' for this summer.

<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo 100_7208_zps5cade553.jpg"/></a>

Just noticed this on the Gloriosa...second time its flowered since being planted as an infant in 2008.

C.Maxima is jamming now...

<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo 100_7228_zpsd0c94bb2.jpg"/></a>

<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo 100_7227_zps98c4c7b3.jpg"/></a>

I marked the Washy,Butia and Princeps after 2 days
the Princeps spear had grown over an inch, the Washy almost 3" and the Butia almost 2....
This really is the time of best growth....unfortunately no rain with temps possibly reaching 100F this week WTH (-:
The Thai giant will be happy!

<a href=" .html" target="_blank"><img src=" " border="0" alt=" photo 100_7226_zpse1908d9e.jpg"/></a>

Hard to tell but the new "smaller" leaf on this
Thai giant is about 3',it will be at least a 4 footer but the next one should be huge, the leaf
to the right in the(next) pic is almost 3.5'x5'.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks Aaron...

as I recall, this one bloomed late enough last time that I wondered if covering would be rough...it was fine though.

I just looked at the new Thai giant leaf today - already 3'x4'

great stuff Jim.......that cactus is getting tall.......are you planning on trimming it prior to winter?

Try to pollenate the Yucca blooms....I've never seen Y. gloriosa variegata with seed pods.

Nice Coryota! 8)

Thanks guys

mike

be careful cutting those flowers, sometimes they are leaves.

Thanks Tim

The cactus is potted so it will be removed and hopefully not broke in half like the last one
was when I carried it upstairs. 😮

Oh man, Jim, how on earth do you get that much growth so fast? (don't answer...rhetorical Q) 😆

With our incredible heat July and Aug, many of my plants suffered, especially young palms.
Yet yours grow gangbusters. 😀
Obviously more nutrients in your soil.

The only things that look unfazed here are the y.rostratas sapphire skies.

Can't imagine any cars going past your place without stopping to look at all that beauty!
