Agree, great selection of plants you've got!

Great job posting pics 🙂

Would you mind adding your location/zone to your Profile, cuja?
That way we won't ask you 50 times where you live. 😆

And some members here may even reside nearby.

Will the potted yuccas and agaves be planted?

Nice rabbit protection around the Hesperaloe.

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Aaron Looks like a Crape Myrtle to me and Cuju I am located in IL as well except im farther south in Jonesboro, IL thats about 45 minutes south west of Carbondale, if you know where that is. I actually have some cousins that live in Springfield, nice plants. Some of my sedum's have died too or are near death. I don't think they like the high humidity. Nice plants too 🙂 nice to see another person on here close to my area.

Most like that sedum is Sedum spathulifolium it requires acid soil conditions....

Aaron, the bush is a crepe myrtle dynamite. I was pleasantly surprised that it has survived the last 2 winters here. The first year it died to the ground and came back from the roots. It grew about 4 feet in one season and the blooms were awesome. This last winter there was no dieback at all.

Thanks Igor, so far I have only tested the banana. The canalilly and yucca rostrata haven't seen their first central illinois winter yet. The banana made it through the last 2 winters easily.

Igor you may be right about the sedum. They called it Old man's bones. I think I may have over estimated its drought tolerance as I planted it in soil with about 75% pea gravel and 25% sand. then came back from a 2 week vacation and it was a goner. 😥

Hi Bryce. I love Southern Illinois. I came back that way from Florida about a month ago. I actually got the yucca Gloriosa from Carbondale. I was really surprised to see it and I had no idea what it was. I've never been to Jonesboro but I work for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and I noticed that there is a Looking for Lincoln site in Jonesboro. I think Metropolis is awesome too! I would live anywhere in So. IL.
