I have a 5.5' wollemi that has needles that are have yellow and have green but this only occurs on one branch. It is possible for a plant that is normally green to become variegated?

Im not an expert.... but it may be easier with a picture. Ive never heard of plants changing to variegated forms, but I know variegated plants can rever BACK to non variegated forms..

THis is a stab in the dark.... But it might be moisture issues and or soil conditions ( azalea leaves get some yellow streaking when there isnt enough acidity in the soil, some plants go yellow from nitrogen deficientcy etc). It could be cold damage as well. It could also be a virus. I know in canna/beans/holyhock and others yellow streaking can be a sign of virus

This is for canna virus, but ive tried it for a few weeks last year, and it seemed to help most of the canna..... But before trying anything get a second opinion please....

Agree with Jesse, most likely a soil condition, believe Wollemia nobilis prefers a slightly alkaline soil like 7.2 or so.

Photo would be great.

My dear Jesse! tell me please how all those (millions of examples) variegated forms do appear? I have Eonimus radicans that shoot variegated shoots quite often. Can not post a picture 'cos it's too dark outside here (a midnight, you know...)

But it's not a genetic variegation. It's a kind of phytometabolic alteration. Nothing serious I guess.

Agree that's not a variegation.

If it extends to include other branches, I'd guess a nutrient deficiency/or oversupply.

I've heard Wollemia nobilis doesn't like Phosphorous in fertilizer.
Saw a recommendation years ago...think it was 8-0-4 (or something like that).

This from UBC Botanical Garden discusses it.

But they also recommend slightly acidic soil, which my research has shown it didn't prefer...
