Took down the plastic wrap today since weather is suppose to be really warm for the next week.
So warm I planted some tomato seedlings from my wife's grandmother (way too early.....here comes a freeze!).
Tetrapanex is showing some swollen buds.
I stuck some 'ΓFatshedera lizei' cuttings into the ground many weeks ago and it appears they are rooting!
Aucuba japonica cuttings I stuck into the ground last year were super easy and are growing already.
Forsythias are still blooming here....with all this heat they won't last too much longer.

Tim,
I've been waiting to see the Washy unwrapped.
It looks absolutely pristine, even after your warmer than normal winter.
Congrats on a good job...you used the tiny Xmas lights if I recall (I used C9's and one Washy looks like crap).
Tomatoes ???
Heck, you'll be eating tomatoes before mine are planted. π
Your yuccas are spurting ahead nicely too.
Thanks for the pics.

Nice! You should try to get some of those 'camo' Washies, those things are worth a fortune!
yes......I used the mini xmas lights...........you can see them in this photo.
I'm sure the tomatoes won't grow much but I wanted to get them out of the house (since they'll get more direct sun and won't get leggy).

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Washy looks good. Watch out for root rot from frozen soils. That's what zapped mine.

Looks great Tim. Do you get any sunburn on the Washy fronds from it being wrapped all winter?

no sunburn on my Washy. I opened the top and removed the internal leaves about 3? weeks ago. I spoke with Bill yesterday and he mentioned his Washy's have white spears.......not sure why yet.

I think his Washys grow so fast at that size that they probably grew out in the dark.
