return of the bananas

I had 10 plants planted last summer. Southwestern Idaho zone 6 (i think.) After not protecting them at all last winter I had three come back. Ive learned the importance of mulching, but also the hardiness of these Bananas. This ones my baby.

Speaking of babies... Look whats happened around her.

I will take much better care this fall and am sure that I will get more and more from now on out. I can't wait till this whole area fills in with them.

What is the ID on the banana in the first pic. Nice striping in the leaves!

Sad thing about that. I can't find my paperwork from when I bought it. I dont know! I wish I did cuz i want to buy a few more of them. They seem to do better in my climate here then the Basjoos do.

It looks like Musa Sikkimensis "Red Tiger" - I had one but it died from water stress.
