I recently bought a musa basjoo and a few weeks later its starting to get a red hue. Is it possible that it will turn red permanetly or is this possibly just something in the soil? Pics later.

Hmmm? I have often seen the red line down the center of the leaves but not so much throughout the leaves? I'm curious to see how far it goes for you...

A red variety would be nice.
My only named M. basjoo variety is "thin red line" bought from Cistus (down from you in Oregon). It looks about like yours.

When they are small plants/as in new shoots emerging in spring-
they can have quite a bit of red on them, the underside of
one of my Basjoo shoots has a ton of red on it.
They grow out of it.
