Tim

Garry introduced some of these but I think the bigger ones were an accident
as the seeds were originally sold as Princeps=my theory has always been that
Nova is possibly a hybrid between Fortunei and Princeps=Garry has found some other variation too.

I have at least 2 kinds of Nova, one Garry labeled as E and the other D or something like that....
when the time comes we can look at each and see which features you prefer (if different)and I will send
you one or both-you have sent me enough stuff that I think I owe you a couple anyway 🙂

Hi Tim.... not many large ones around yet. Heres a nice pic of three good sized one at Pan Global Plants when I visited in August last year.

Inside a polytunnel(much warmer) these palms maintain their elongated petioles.... mine are somewhat shorter although its early days yet 😀
BTW the under sides of the leaves will have a blue hue but green atop.

Hi Andy,

your nova seems blue-er than those at Pan Global.

Definitely green Tim, although if I want my Yuccas to look bluer, I have the technology 😆

Thanks Mike 😀 The mild weather we have been having will disappear by the weekend to be replaced by snow. Forecasters predict this cold snap will last into February 🙄

Good luck, our mild weather should break by next week too. It is, after all, winter, sigh....

Tim

I think in general they may be less hardy than Fortunei...that said,
some of the ones on the porch did not pull while Tesan and Takil did-
go figure.

They may have been missed with the watering can though so you never know.

One thing that has been reported is that even if they pull, they usually recover fast
as they are said to be the fastest growing Trachy-not sure how these particular ones compare.
