had a wander around the garden yesterday. All the plants not protected are thoroughly soggy Here are some pics

Yucca border nice and dry

My unprotected Yucca Linearifolia sending out fresh growth

Dicksonias are still green...just

Borinda Fungosa with nice blue canes

Some idea of the rain we've had

Yuccas and palms under cover

Acacia Longifolia (seed grown) due to flower this year

Sarcoccaca Confusa in flower with the most powerful scent you can wish for. Anyone grow it ? Quite a hardy plant.

That's it for now sorry for pic quality... a really dull day.

Thanks everyone. Garden is looking green at the moment. The mild weather remains..... 10-12C daytime temps unfortunately accompanied by lots of rain. A few more pics.
Grevillea Victoriae

Myrtus Luma... a self seeder. Survives in zone8 but happier in Cornwall.

Some Palms ... Brahea Armata.... a palm that does not like UK weather especially our summers

Trachycarpus Nova under cover

Jubaea Chilensis... I could write a book about this plant. A beautiful plant purchased only to find it had no roots 😳 Has taken three years to recover 👿

A trunked Dasylirion Miquihuanensis

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

WOW Andy.........great plants.

The Trachycarpus 'Nova' is really cool for Trachycarpus.......I want one! Is seed available somewhere?

The Dasylirion is way too cool looking......I'm surprised they survive in your cloudy, wet climate.

Tim

I have some Nova I am going to sell next year when they get growing again-let me know if you want one.

You won't have to wait for them to sprout this way 🙂

Hi Jim,

a 'Nova' would be great............do they really look like Andy's? Wow those have great potential. What's the 'story' with 'nova'? Where is it native to? I hope they are hardy like fortunei and not like latisectus.......gave all those to Bill. Let me know what you want since I have a garage full of plants I don't need but can't kill. 😆

Tim heres the Nova back in March '09

Three years on and two Cold winters later

The leaves droop like spiders legs

Did notice more leaf damage as the plant grew. Decided to put a cover on this year... just as well as the trunk would have been quite wet and more susceptable to a freeze.

Hi Andy,

it appears the leaves were green-er when young. The leaves appear blue-ish now like a principes?
