I have my two Basjoo's in a shed where they had experienced good growth even thou no sunlight.
Last night we had out coldest night and when I went out to see them, they had turned brown and mushy at the top.
I know they do this during winter, but if I bring them inside now, will they recover rapidly if I cut the brown mush off?
It must of got really cold there for them to do this inside your garage. You will need to cut the leaves of and protect the trunk. If you can provide it heat in the garage during the coldest nights that would be better than bringing it inside. Inside it will start to grow and may develop spider mites. A real problem with bananas inside.
Your stem should be fine to about -4C without protection in your garage but anything below that it will need to be kept warm.
