Well, it seems for the past 3 months, our climate is a month and a half ahead of itself. The trees are budding, lilies are leafin up quick.

My neighbor, has already planted some seedlings ( veggies). The nights are still around -4C, but everything under the plastic tents is growing like weeds for her. SO in light of that, I was wondering if i can do that with som eplant seedlings, mabey some canna bulbs.....?

Yes, if you have the materials you can place some cannas etc. under the glass to speed them along. However, if the temp drops below about -5C the 'mini-greenhouse' won't matter and you'll lose the top-growth on the banana.

Down here I've started planting, no frost for over a week and none in the forecast. I've got the bananas uncovered, but if they call for 0C I'll be covering them again quick!

awsome dude.....

I have 5MM plastic, used fer creating a vapour barrier. If i double it..... Im thinking I may be able to get it warm enough..... Im going to ask the neighbor how she manages it ( shes done this 2 years in a row... and last year was horrible...... cold as hell here, she still got a sizable crop).

The weather here has been really odd. The lows are usualy above freezing, some nights -5 ( im pretty sure thats the average low fer this time of year), but our day time highs are still 3 - 10C or more above seasonal.

I planted my grape and made a psudo greenhouse fer it......

Re your neighbour's veggies...

Cold-loving plants like peas and cole crops (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) can go in early.
My pea package (same with spinach) says "plant as soon as the ground can be worked", as waiting too long makes plants bolt and go to seed earlier.

Like I said somewhere else, my spinach and peas (and also bok choi) is up about an inch.
And we've got crappy cool weather.

My biggest problem is keeping the robins and quail from digging up the pea shoots.

I haven't even photographed the veggies...LOL

Yup, that's my long-suffering 33 year old Trachy that finally got planted out last Fall.
If it could talk, I'd get an earful for keeping it in a garbage can for so long. 😆

😆 😆 😆 😆
It's not nice to look in windows, Jim. LOL

canadianplant...nope not from seed. It's always been indoors until planting last Fall.
Bought it in a 6-inch pot while Rin Tin Tin was still a pup. 😀
