Whats your experience with Agave victoriae-reginae in a cold? Also how did you obtain yours (ie. seed, nursery) and what was the growth rate like?

I tried a few over the years......they can take some cold. One actually survived a warm winter when plastered against a south facing building wall. Anything away from a great microclimate will die but still cool to test. Keep dry in winter.

When I lived in Rhode Island....probably 2002.

Here's one in my Massachusetts in 2004....in a greenhouse with no sides......BIG mistake with Agaves...check out next photo.

I Remember a 39" snow storm that year. It was the first season living at my new place. That was a fun Nor-easter to watch, I remember the snow melting very fast even though it was super cold after that storm. Your S. Mag was mini then, amazing how fast it grew over the years.
