Canna banana (Canna musifolia grande) was a nice score for a late summer deal, $4.88 for this overgrown specimen in a 2 gallon pot. Check out the local or in this case, out of town nurseries for deals at this time of year.

Nice buy, Barrie. 8) I have some corms I grew that are about that size. 😀 I got them in a trade.
