Is this Musa Basjoo gonna make it?

This is how it arrived...drier than a popcorn fart after seeing the inside
of how many Canada Post warehouses!!! 👿

I could drive the distance in 3 days on only 2 cylinders! Barb

Barb it should make it. The newest leaf is still green. If you want more musa basjoo bananas they have lots of them at the "Kelowna flower farm". $14.95 for ones a little smaller than you have pictured.

John, that's encouraging...man, it looks like it's dead.
Since I potted it, now everything's wilted and hanging down.

Hopefully by tomorrow, one leaf will be upright.

Should I cut off the brown/slimy ones?

Cut anything dry or dead. No hope of reguvinating those leaves. Water regularly, fertilize and stand back ... boom!

Cheers, Barrie.

Barb,

Cut off the dead leaves and the plant will look much better. That basjoo is just a wee baby and will be a monster by the end of summer. I have had bananas stuck at customs for a month and they were fine. Bananas store extremely well.

Thanks folks, that's encouraging.
The one remaining (top) leaf looks better this morning.

Before Canada Post's neglect...it would've been gorgeous. Nice size.

I love the tip "...stand back" and "monster"! 😆
Yabbadabbadooo!

I VERY GENTLY repotted it into a smaller pot. Thanks for the tips, guys!

Looks better today.
👿 darn, THAT pic didn't turn out on my new camera. POOP.

But here's one in its smaller pot. Is it planted at the right height this time?
(I raised it). I sat it on a rock in the fish pond in about 3 inches of water for half the day, then removed it.
Yucky water...fish poop and all that, but the right temperature.
