If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
So yours isn't evergreen, Andy?
Or was it simply hit with some unexpected cold?Barb
No barb but this Euonymus had very strange bare stems. A very attractive plant whether in or out of leaf.

The variation among plants is amazing.
I'm glad mine is evergreen, adds some interest to an otherwise lacklustre landscape in winter.

I have Euonymus Alatus which puts on my only dislay of Autumn colour 😳

Nice pic. I too like euonymus for their colorful evergreen shows. I have yellow, green and white and green varieties. They right now have handsome dark red berries on them that contrast well with the glossy yellow and greens. I have a few of the (alatus) burning bush varieties around the side of the house. . They grow into medium sized trees also round here. Seems the only thing that kills euonymus is scale. That can be a bitch to get rid of!

Yes it is almost as if the stems have extra sheaths like scars growing out the sides of them. They are actually really invasive especially down the coast here in NJ. Here is a pic of the odd twig when bare

Hi Barb,
do the deer ever eat palms? 😕
Rabbits do... next time I find one eating my palms. Am going wabbits hunting with a high powered sniper airsoft rifle. Will not kill but hirt like heck those.
Nobody panics when people plant normal trees because its part of the plan... if someone plants a Palm EVERYONE LOSES THERE MINDS!
