Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

not sure what those spots are............I walked by the Illicium quickly this morning and it looked better but we've been below freezing for 8 days straight now..........tomorrow will be above freezing so I'll find out soon.

They certainly look like nectrotic spots. Let us know if those leaves regain their colour!

I looked at the Illicium leaves this morning and they look much better........80% of those spots were gone. Tomorrow is suppose to hit 50F so I'll take a photo tomorrow when it heats up......if those spots are damaged they may show up in a few weeks??

Those leaves look in a sorry state. I think that where the colour has turned brown is beyond recovery. The plant will recover but there may be some holes in the leaves later on. I'm still befuddled by the fact that you can grow these plants in a 6B climate. Must be those green fingers you possess Tim 😆

The Illicium looks pretty good today.

I think this was the branch that had the leaf spots:

the snows made that branch fall down..........I didn't see any breakage.............I guess I'll tie it back up............not sure why it's more yellow than the other branches?? 😕

That branch may have been a bit more tender going into the Fall.

Looks like my rhodies Tim. Even my PJM leaves are curled and droopy. I will say, my holly shrub is alive, just a few burnt leaves from what I can see. Didnt think that would make it up here.

nice to hear a holly shrub can survive in your area. Is this it's first winter outside? If so next season it should be even hardier! 😉

Yup, first winter. Im pretty sure its "blue prince/princess", so its supposed to be hardy to around -30C (which i what the low was). Even if it dies back a bit youre right, it will be way hardier next year!
