Nice to see it alive and well, Aaron.
Especially after your brutally cold Spring.

Congrats!

Kind of wierd, it did fairly good even though I lost a few other yuccas. 😕

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Aaron,
I think you mentioned you had little snow cover this winter (just like us).
That might have been the reason some didn't make it.

Those yuccas from west Texas that you posted...100 or 200 years old?
Judging from the speed of my yuccas growth 😆 😆 😆

Barb

PS--did you manage to pop some of those Joshua Tree seeds?

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

Nice work on the Yucca Faxoniana Aaron! That's a cool yucca. Which yucca species did you lose this winter? Sorry to hear about that.

I think it's time for some updated Idaho J-Tree pics!

I think those yuccas could be 50years? Faxon grow real fast with a little water, after they form a trunk I guess you could get one to grow 10 feet in 10 years.

PS--I have no j-tree seed yet, but when I do I will share. 😀

If it was as big as Josef's you'd never be able to see it grow anyway! 😀

I lost some yucca rostrata, thompsoniana, and one yucca linerifolia. 😡

I've been going to post some updates on the j-trees, but they barely got any new growth. 😥 Maybe this weekend I will. 😉

Wonder how old those beauties are, any guess?

I absolutely love those gated and stucco-fenced yards.
Would sure keep the wind off young plants and reflect heat and light to the plants.

Looked at Marathon on a map. Really close to Mexico too.
I'm thinking of everything that would grow there, Aaron. :shaking2:

That's all? 10 or 15 years old? Sheesh, a Joshua that size in the desert would be 100 years old 😆

Thanks for the videos...what a fabulous place.
Stunning pool, great-looking restaurant food.
"Rustic yet elegant"...man that's 100% elegant in my book.
Looks like the highway runs right past the door...same with the train 😕

Let me know if they want to trade for 15 acres here 😆 😆 😆
I'd trip over my tongue exchanging deeds.

I hope one day to have time and money to travel and see all these cool places. I've been looking for a few acres around that area, but people must be proud because I didnt see anything cheap.

Train runs right by it 😆 I think Marathon appeals to me because it's something like the town I live in. We have a main railroad right through the middle of town and you cant belive the train buffs that come here to watch the trains. We even have a "train viewing plat-form". 😆

Nothing looked cheap there.
Great looking desert highway leading to/from it too.
Looks drier than a bone around town, always wonder how many wells people drill before they find water.

Rail lines around here are being deactivated...the few businesses they served can't afford to keep them going by themselves.
I think they should be kept up and used for tourist trains, and resurrected for industry when times improve.
Means more heavy trucks on the roads.

Trains and train buffs...bet they have model RRs in their basement. 😀
