Went to Osoyoos the other day and took some pics around town. Here's some yuccas and cacti pics. 😀

Cheers,
Jay

Nice pics Jay! Is that a Yucca rostrata?
I dig all the large Cylindropuntia, very nice!

Very appropriate concidering it's Canada's only true desert region. Once things catch on the plant material will expand to include many more suitable desert plants.

Cheers, Barrie.

I like all the Cylindropuntia too. There are lots around. Nice to see them growing at the grocery stores etc. The one in the fourth pic might be a rostrata. It had a blue color to it and the rest looked to be glaucas.

Regards,
Jay

Jay great pics of those desert plants. Nice to see the Y.rostrata is catching on as well as the cactus. Once people see these in a public setting they should be more apt to try them. I will be down to Osoyoos before summers end and will check out the desert center near town. I think the Mazari palm would be a good fit for the Okanagan. To bad they are so sloow and rare to buy.
