Do you think an adult Sugauro will be able to survive 10° to 14° F. http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Cactaceae/Carnegiea_gigantea.html http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/60113/
I live were it usually usually get 22° to 25° F for the most of winter and only gets is below 22° F rarely. It snows sometime (not a lot) but rains frequently. I wanted to see if a small one would survive.
I think excess moisture and prolonged cool temperatures would be more problamatic than the ultimate low. I know it can get quite cold in Arizona where these grow. It will warm up quickly after a dip in temperature and then be sunny and dry in Arizona.

I agree....cold duration will be key. A very quick drop to 15F may produce less damage than a drop to 25F for 8 hours. I'm impressed with the ones I have. I germinated them in 1992 or so and I keep them in the darkish garage all winter (Nov through March). All that dark really doesn't harm them too much......kinda surprised.
