Due to vandalism I have a pad from my giant beavertail cactus available to anyone in Canada who would like it. The flower color is a peachy yellow. The cactus has a tendency to lay down because of the size of it's pads which usually reach 10" or more.

If you are interested let me know. I don't have room for another of this species and I would hate to throw the pad away.

The cactus is hardy in Zone 3B without any winter protection.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Here goes. I apologize for the paper caught on the cactus. I have stuck myself too many times to keep pulling peoples discarded garbage off of the cacti.

The larger pads are between 9 and 12" long. This out of focus pic is of one of it's blooms.
.

depending on how these turn out, I will post pics of my cacti and yucca.

I also found a partial pad that must have stuck to the vandal. It should grow and is small enough to have a chance of getting across the US border. If anyone is interested let me know.

I have also got fresh seed for this cactus that is free to anyone who wants it.

Wes;
From the pic that you sent it appears that you planted it properly. I was pleased to see that Canada Post didn't destroy it.

Thanks Allen for getting back to me. I have never planted a cactus before so I am glad I did it properly.
